The Spotted Dog Tavern was established in 2013 after Stephen “Pato” Paterson purchased the Tavern formerly known as Banjo’s Tavern and upgraded it to its present standard.
With over thirty years’ experience in the hotel industry, this is Pato’s third hotel in Bundaberg as a licensee. Pato is a true and proud Bundaberg local!
After the second devastating floods of 2013 Pato decided Bundaberg needed cheering up. After the upgrades were complete, Pato decided to get a little quirky and name the venue after his family’s spotted dog (Ben), hence the name “The Spotted Dog Tavern”.
